Event technology is all around us

Sometimes, when the stars are aligned, I am permitted a few quiet minutes to flick through my favourite sailing magazine. This month there was a particularly engaging article discussing the evolution of leisure boat manufacturing. In ‘the old days’ there would be a designer in charge of the design and a yard manager responsible for the build… simple.

Of course nowadays, as with so many products, yachts are created by many specialists from conception through to delivery.

Here at Crystal Interactive we might describe ourselves as event technology specialists and most people would instantly get a vision of a conference centre with a stage and lots of iPads, sometimes that’s what you’d see but it’s not the extent of what we do.

One of the things I love about event technology is how it contributes to the world around us. Looking back over my years as stock manager for Crystal Interactive I can safely say we’ve contributed to the development or design of cars, diggers, medicines, aircraft, buildings, the list goes on. We are one of the specialists brought in, not that we know anything about materials or manufacturing processes, but we have the tools to allow the experts to engage with each other at any stage of the process, from concept to delivery.

So the next time you’re on a plane, in a train or even eating your breakfast cereal there’s a good chance event technology has played its part.
