Event Technology Awards 2019: Crystal Interactive shortlisted

Fresh from our celebrations at being shortlisted for a C&IT Award for our recent work with E.ON, we are delighted to have been shortlisted for a second award – ‘Best Event Networking Technology’ in the Event Technology Awards 2019 for the same project.
Delivering on a Networking Objective at E.ON’s Internal Meeting
Networking and collaboration were the primary objectives of the internal all-hands meeting held in Düsseldorf in January 2019 for E.ON’s Digital Communications team, so we are proud that the results we achieved with E.ON have been recognised in this category.
The event’s main purpose was to bring together two teams – Digital and Information Technology for the first time. In the months to come, the two teams would merge into one, to become ‘Digital Technology’.
The event team was tasked with organising an event that would support this, providing a unique opportunity for colleagues to gain a better understanding of what each team does, share the joint strategy and create a catalyst for a fresh, common culture.
The two-day event brought together almost 700 of E.ON’s team, 479 at Boui Boui Bilk in Düsseldorf with an additional 200 colleagues joining via streamed sessions from 7 different and featured 30 guest speakers, an address by E.ON’s Chief Executive Officer, breakout sessions and an evening networking event.
Smart Wearables Solution for Optimal Networking and Collaboration
After understanding the brief for the event, we recommended our Smart Wearables and engagement platform, which enabled a more immersive, engaging experience at every stage. Our technology supported an enhanced delegate journey, from the registration process, to easing logistical challenges, encouraging networking and making connections, gamification, team building and content gathering.
The event was a great success - over 21,479 connections were made, and post-event feedback confirmed attendees came away feeling more confident in the leadership team and more connected with one another.
Gordon Dowall-Potter, Digital Communications Lead for E.ON said of the event, “The wearable technology went down very well, everyone adopted and embraced it, including our CEO! Watching everyone clicking and connecting via the badges and having fun at the same time was great to see. As this was a digital technology event it was brilliant to try something innovative, that’s never been done before at E.ON. We were delighted with the results.”
Event Technology Awards: Best Event Networking Technology
On being shortlisted for a second award in as many days, Marketing Manager, Richard Shafe, said “We are really thrilled to have been shortlisted for a second award for this project. As with the C&IT award shortlist, it is great for the team and the results we achieved with E.ON to be recognised in this way and we look forward to the Awards Ceremony in London on 6 November.”
