The Mix

Voting Keypads

BACKGROUND
As the UK’s leading support service for young people, The Mix relies on volunteers, fundraising and charitable donations to provide their vital advice services to under 25’s.

As part of their calendar of fundraising events they hold an annual interactive quiz night. Hosted at London hotspot Sway Bar, the 2017 event saw 150 guests going head-to-head.

CHALLENGE
With the average age of the guests well under 25, the format of the quiz needed to be fun, fast-paced and engaging. The organisers wanted to move away from one dimensional pens and paper and tablets which confined the questions to multiple choice.

APPROACH
We suggested using our Connector Keypads to allow a more interactive approach, meaning that a broader type of question could be asked, more interesting response formats could be used and responses could be collated quickly. The guests were split into 20 teams and each team was assigned one of our handheld Keypads. Our Event Technology Specialist was also on site to support the quiz and liven up the format with double point rounds and assist in the big reveal of the scoreboard for the finale!

ABOUT THE CLIENT
The Mix is a UK based charity that provides free, confidential support for young people under 25 via online, social and mobile helplines.

The onsite Crystal team were fantastic and the new quiz format incorporating the connector Keypads was a big success. The technology helped energise the audience which made for an entertaining and exciting night.
