DASSAULT SYSTÈMES

Collaborate App

BACKGROUND
We have worked closely with Dassault Systèmes over the last three years, enabling collaboration at all their customer events and supporting internal transformation programmes using our virtual collaboration platform, Collaborate.

Earlier this year, Dassault asked us to work in partnership with them on the ‘Leaders in Business Sustainability – From Strategy to Reality’ conference, which is designed to surface key issues facing business leaders today.

The two-day event attracted 80 CEOs, COOs and senior business leaders from across the UK. It provided attendees with an open forum, where they could share their experiences with peers, consider what is driving business sustainability and discuss the opportunities and challenges they face in their industry, sector and own organisation.

CHALLENGE
Organisers wanted to create a highly interactive forum, where every attendee could easily contribute and shape the discussion and learn from industry peers and network, all while cracking a hot industry issue – ‘What does it take to deliver a sustainable business?’. The sessions needed to generate real results and collate all the experience and insights in the room quickly.

OUTCOME
Having used our Collaborate App before, Dassault knew it would be the perfect fit to harness the collective insights in an inclusive, highly interactive way. Following a period of meticulous pre-event planning with the event team, we prepared a full agenda for both days, which was then facilitated throughout the event by our Managing Director, Chris Elmitt.

On day one, attendees used the brainstorming and prioritisation features of our Collaborate App to identify and share ideas, spot trends and patterns and then prioritised these using the up-voting feature of the app. Working in small groups, attendees were actively involved in shaping the discussion, not just sitting and listening to presentations.

Chris Elmitt ensured that only the challenges leaders told us were important were addressed. Our expert on-site team was also on hand to deploy the technology via the fully customised app, on our suite of iPads.

Day two saw the attendees take part in a hackathon style discussion, which explored practical actions and solutions to the challenges identified on day one.

Collaborate harnessed the collective insights from the audience, in the moment, allowing instant discussion and debate to take place immediately. Attendees were able to prototype new approaches, which were tested out in the event environment before taking them back into their world of work.

Each attendee received a detailed report of the findings of the two-day meeting.

The event’s goal was to position Dassault Systèmes as an expert in driving business sustainability and it aimed to re-enforce the company’s position as a trusted advisor, helping to shape the future of business. Following the success of the event, Dassault is keen to roll out this format, using our Collaborate App and facilitation services, to other countries it operates in and larger scale conferences.
