Business leaders get interactive with our Collaborate App

This week we were at the Science Museum, London asking over 80 senior business leaders ‘What does it take to deliver a sustainable business?’. Working with our client, Dassault Systèmes and in association with the Financial Times, we led a highly interactive forum, allowing attendees to collaboratively answer the question above and agree practical solutions and actions.
The Leaders in Business Sustainability – From Strategy to Reality event was designed to surface the key issues facing business leaders today. It gave attendees the opportunity to share their experiences with their peers, help them understand what’s driving business sustainability and provided a forum for them to discuss the opportunities and challenges they face in their industry, sector and own organisation.
So, how did our unique Collaborate App fit into the event?
Collaborate was central to the event process and the interactive and collaborative nature of the meeting. On day one, the attendees used the brainstorming and prioritisation features of the app to identify and share ideas, spot trends and patterns and then prioritise these using the upvoting feature of the app. Working in small groups, attendees were actively involved in shaping the discussion, not just sitting and listening to presentations.
Our MD, Chris Elmitt, facilitated the sessions throughout the two-day event, ensuring that only the challenges leaders told us were important were addressed. Our expert on-site team was also be on hand deploying the technology via the fully customised app, on our suite of iPads.
Day two saw the attendees take part in a hackathon style discussion, which explored practical actions and solutions to the challenges identified on day one. Collaborate harnessed the collective insights from the audience, in the moment, allowing instant discussion and debate to take place immediately. Attendees were able to prototype new approaches, which were tested out in the event environment before taking them back into their world of work.
Event planning
The event’s goal was to position Dassault Systèmes as an expert in driving business sustainability and it aimed to re-enforce the company’s position as a trusted advisor, helping to shape the future of business.
We have been involved with the event since its conception, where we first facilitated the event team in brainstorming the overall concept and structure of this event. Having worked with the Dassault team for the last three years, we have enabled collaboration at all their customer events, and have worked on internal transformation programmes using our virtual collaboration platform.
After the event
Following the event, each attendee will receive a detailed report of the findings of the two-day meeting, and they will also be the first to hear the results of an independent research project commissioned by Dassault.
